Statement on Phase Out of Supervised Visitation Services

Last month, the Board of Directors of The Parent Child Center of Tulsa (PCCT) began a review of the agency’s Supervised Visitation service. In reviewing the program, the Board looked at the agency’s mission focus, core strengths and unique expertise to assess how we can best serve our community and fulfill our mission of preventing child abuse and neglect.

After careful consideration, the Board voted to phase out the Supervised Visitation program. At present, 27 families will be impacted by this decision. These families were made aware several weeks ago that a review was underway. These families have been informed of the determination made. PCCT staff will now work with these client families over the next several weeks to transition services to new providers in a manner that will be supportive of their best interests. Fortunately, in our metropolitan area, there are several other providers of Supervised Visitation services.

The Parent Child Center of Tulsa continues its work to provide high quality child abuse prevention services to parents and children, and to our community as a whole. This decision does not affect any other program of PCCT. In fact, PCCT’s impact continues to grow in the Tulsa community. In 2012 PCCT services and programs reached over 46,000 adults and children in the Tulsa area, our largest yearly impact to date.

We thank you for your support as we phase out this one particular service. If you have any questions, please contact Annette Wallace, Director of Client Services at 918-699-0594 or Matthew Eber, Communications Manager at 918-699-0529.
