Since 1924, TAUW has raised and invested over $748 million to assist the lives of people in need in Creek, Okmulgee, Osage, Rogers, Wagoner and Tulsa counties. Today, TAUW works to strengthen the three building blocks to a better life: education, financial stability, and health and safety.
Domestic Violence Intervention Services (DVIS) strives to rebuild lives affected by domestic violence and sexual assault through advocacy, shelter, counseling, and education.
Tulsa CASA recruits, trains and supervises quality volunteer advocates to speak for the best interests of abused and neglected children in the dependency court system.
CAN’s centralized approach facilitates seamless communication among the multidisciplinary team of agencies that investigate and prosecute child abuse. CAN is located in a safe, child-friendly facility known as the Children’s Advocacy Center (formerly Justice Center), which is designed for abused children and the agencies that are involved in child abuse investigations.
Family & Children’s Services promotes, supports and strengthens the well-being and behavioral health of adults, children and families.
Emergency Infant Services (EIS) is a non-profit organization that provides temporary assistance to children five and younger in the Tulsa area whose families are in dire economic straits. They provide the most basic of needs: food, formula, clothing, and diapers, along with other children’s items. EIS provides support for over 17,000 infants and toddlers annually.
Through programs in four main areas — Runaway and Homeless Services, Counseling, Delinquency Prevention, and Youth Development — Youth Services of Tulsa provides the resources our community’s youth need to overcome the hardships and trials some adolescents face. YST meets them where they are and provides help when they need it most.
The Family Safety Center strives to provide “wrap-around” victim services to achieve the following objectives:
- Provide assistance obtaining emergency protective orders for victims of domestic violence
- Provide help and resources to children exposed to domestic violence
- Offer forensic medical assistance to victims of domestic violence
- Offer appropriate legal support and representation to victims of domestic violence
- Reduce the number of domestic violence cases that go unreported in all of Tulsa County
- Ensure domestic violence perpetrators are prosecuted
Located in Tulsa, the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma distributes food and other grocery items to 450 Partner Programs in eastern Oklahoma, including food pantries, emergency shelters, soup kitchens, senior citizen centers and after-school programs. In Fiscal Year 2015, the Food Bank distributed more than 21.6 million pounds of food throughout the 24 counties of eastern Oklahoma.
